Correios Mores * Luís Gomes da Mata – 7th Chief Postmaster of the Kingdom and 3rd Chief Postmaster of Sea Letters from 1641 to 1674. Stampless folded letter signed by King João IV, dated Lisbon (03.08.47) to Fernão Telles de Meneses, War Counsellor and Governor of Arms and of the Court of Appeal in Porto, with a royal seal embossed on the reverse. Very well preserved, without damages or repairs. Very fine and scarce.
