Azores * Precursors * 1856/58 – King Pedro V. Curled hair. MF13d, 25 réis, carmine pink, smooth paper, type VII. Stamp with two luxury margins and two normal on a letter dated from Faial (13.02.62) to S. Miguel, to pay the first rate of an inter-island letter from the Azores weighing up to 15g, in accordance with the table of rates of the Charter Law of 09.09.61. Stamp without damages or repairs, with good colour and embosses, obliterated with a numerical postmark from the 1st postal reform, struck in black “49 – HORTA”, type 4.3.4 and the letter with the nominal postmark, struck in black, “FAYAL”. Very fine and rare. Expert certificate from J. Miranda da Mota.
