Viana do Minho / Rate Paid – In sepia, LF VCT-PP1 on stampless folded letter dated from Viana (12.01.1824) to Porto, with the “rate paid of 20 réis”, struck in black, corresponding to a letter weighing up to 2 oitavas, for the first distance (up to 10 leagues). On the back, was marked with “Paid the postage fee” mark, struck in sepia and the handwritten inscription of the Viana post office “I send with this the 20 reis of the rate / 12 January 1824”. Upon arrival in Porto was marked with “FRANCA” LF PRT-PP4. Well preserved letter with slight stains. Catalogue value €800.00.
