Viana do Minho / Rate Paid – In sepia, LF VCT-PP1 on a letter dated from Viana (12.01.1824) to Porto, with ”rate paid 20 réis”, stamped in black, corresponding to a letter weighing up to 2 oitavas, for the first distance (up to 10 leagues). On the back, it was stamped in sepia with ”Pagou o porte do Correio” (Rate paid) and the handwritten inscription from the Viana post office ”Remeto com esta os 20 reis do porte / 12 de janº de 1824” (I am sending the 20 réis rate with this / 12 January 1824). Its arrival in Porto was marked with ”FRANCA” LF PRT-PP4. Well-preserved copy with slight stains. Catalogue value €800.00.
