Islands * Madeira / Lisbon / Azores * Designation of Origin postmark – In blue, LF LSB-IL3 on a letter dated Madeira (May 23, 1953) to São Miguel, transiting through Lisbon (June 1, 1953), with a rate of 40 réis, struck in blue, applied in Lisbon, corresponding to a packet letter from the Islands to the Kingdom, subsequently cancelled at the Lisbon post office and postmarked “CANCELLED”, struck in blue. Unusual transit of a letter between islands. Letter very well preserved with the postmarks well struck. MB and R.
