Cover sent without rate from Pangim – Artillery Barracks to Bern (24.11.18) with transit through Lisbon (21.11.18), censored with a white band with the inscriptions in black “PORTUGUESE INDIA / MILITARY POSTAL CENSORSHIP” and a rectangular stamp in violet “PORTUGUESE INDIA / CENSORED (7) / MILITARY CENSORSHIP”. Cover postmarked with a rectangular green rate exemption stamp “CORREIO / DA / INDIA / PORTUGUESA / ISENTO DE FRANQUIA” and a red linear stamp “COMISSION PORTUGAISE / DES / PRISONIERS DE GUERRE / LISBONNE”, sent by the German civilian prisoner named Telesforo Bechtinger, commander of the ship ”Vorwaerts” renamed ”ÍNDIA”, which belonged to the Austrian Lloyd Company based in Trieste.
