Isolated stamp on a cover sent from São Tomé (March 21, 1914) to Lisbon (April 7, 1914), to pay the 4th rate of ordinary mail for a letter to Portugal weighing between 45 and 60g (100 réis) and excess rate of 15 réis, according to the rates table of the Law of February 4, 1905, published in the Government Gazette No. 37 of February 15, 1905. Stamp with handwritten black obliteration “ REPUBLICA”, probably of private initiative. MB and MR.
