Mozambique Company * 1916 – Elephants, with the surcharge “REPUBLICA” and surcharge from the Mint. Illustrated postcard circulated as printed matter from Beira (July 27, 1918) to Castres / France, with ½ cent orange and 1 cent green stamps, both on chalky paper, perforation 11 ¾, MF 93/94, totaling 1 ½ cents, to pay the first rate for a printed item sent abroad weighing up to 50g, according to the rate table of OS No. 400 of November 15, 1917. Doubly censored in France and Beira with a circular stamp, stamped in violet “PASSED THROUGH / CENSORSHIP / BEIRA”.
