Autographed by Major General Carl-August von Schoenebeck (1898-1989) began his career in the Baden Leib-Grenadier Regiment in 1915. He transferred to the Luftstreitkräfte in 1916. After training, he served with the artillery cooperation unit FA (A) 203. His subsequent service in fighters (e. g. Jasta 11 earned him credit for eight confirmed aerial victories and a number of decorations, as well as the command of Jasta 33 while still a leutnant. WW1 pilot Rolf Schrodter. Friedrich Kless (7 October 1906 - 6 April 1994) was a German general during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Wilhelm Johnen (9 October 1921 - 7 February 2002) was a German night fighter ace in the Luftwaffe during World War II. Born in 1921 Johnen joined the Luftwaffe in 1939. In 1941 Johnen joined the German night fighter force (Nachtjagd) and participated in the Defence of the Reich campaign. He achieved his first success on 26 March 1942. Johnen became a night fighter ace on 25 June 1943 after achieving his fifth victory. In March 1944 he was appointed as Staffelkapitän (squadron leader) at the rank of Oberleutnant with his victory total at 18. In April 1944 Johnen was briefly interned in Switzerland when he force-landed in the country. It caused an international incident but he was repatriated with his crew some days later. Wilhelm Johnen was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 29 October 1944 for the destruction of 33 Royal Air Force (RAF) bombers. He ended the war with 34 aerial victories, all of these claims were made at night. Plus US fighter ace Andrew Evans. Andrew Julius Evans Jr. (November 11, 1918 - December 25, 2001) was a United States Air Force major general and a flying ace, who was credited in destroying six enemy aircraft in aerial combat and two enemy aircraft on the ground during World War II. He also served in the Korean War, where he flew combat missions before he was shot down and taken prisoner. After his release, he flew missions during the Vietnam War before retiring in 1973.
