Georgette Gondree was one of the first children liberated in France on D-Day. She and her sister, Arlette, were living at the Cafe Gondree near Pegasus Bridge when British paratroopers landed and took the bridge in the early hours of June 6, 1944. The family, including Georgette, were liberated by the British 6th Airborne Division. The cafe, later renamed Pegasus Bridge Cafe, became a symbol of the liberation of France. Good condition.
