WW2 Colditz Polish Jedrzej Giertych signed Return to Colditz Red Cross cover. Rare multiple escaper. He was taken prisoner and in the years 1939-1945 he was held in German POW camps. He made several escape attempts (including from the penal Oflag VIII ”b” located in the Srebrna Góra Fortress ; after a few days the escapees fell back into German hands at the border crossing to the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ), he managed to get out of the camps six times, the longest he stayed in freedom was 12 days.
