Duke of Wellington MC signed 2001 Battle of Waterloo Forces cover, Definitive FDC with special 186th Ann postmark LWF4 cover. Rare numbered 67 of 190. Cat £20 unsigned. Arthur Valerian Wellesley, the 8th Duke of Wellington, who was awarded the Military Cross (MC) for his service in the Second World War, where he fought with the Royal Horse Guards Regiment in the Middle East and Italy. He was commissioned in the British Army and rose through the ranks to Brigadier before retiring from the Army in 1968. He inherited the Dukedom in 1972 and passed away in 2014.
