Personally Signed by the Firefly Pilot Capt K A Leppard RN the present Commanding Officer of Yeovilton and Observer Lt Cdr M C S Apps RN his Operation Officer also Signed by John Fairey of Fairey Aviation. He organised the construction and operation of a replica of the extinct Fairey Flycatcher biplane fighter of the 1920 and the Fairey Flycatcher replica is displayed alongside a Swordfish and the Fairey FD 2 at the Fleet Air Arm Museum Yeovilton. Captain John Fairey, who died on July 7, 2009, aged 74, was flying his vintage Percival Provost when it crashed in a field as he returned from RAF Waddington, where it had been part of the ground display at the base's annual international air show.
