E W K Walton is Eric William Kevin Walton (1918-2009), a Royal Navy officer who was awarded the Albert Medal in 1946 for a daring rescue of a fellow Antarctic explorer from a crevasse, an award later ”translated to the George Cross in 1971. Walton's brave actions involved being lowered five times into a crevasse over several hours to free Major Tonkin, an act that saved his colleague's life. Has an addition George Cross stamp which might well be a unique cover. Good condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
