Piece Signed by Field Marshall Sir Richard Hull Operation Torch 1942. Piece dated 2 1 76 Size 5 by 1 ½ inches Personally Signed by Field Marshall Sir Richard Hull He served with distinction during the WW11, fighting from 1942 to 1945 in North Africa, Italy and Western Europe, became the youngest divisional commander in the British Army, In the days leading up to Operation Torch, the Allied invasion of North Africa, for which the 6th Armoured Division was to take part in as part of the British First Army, Hull was promoted to Colonel and became second - in - command of the 26th Armoured Brigade. Part of the First Army landed in North Africa on 8 November 1942, with Hull's regiment being among them. A week later, shortly after landing, Hull was ordered to form Blade Force, based around the 17th/21st Lancers, along with part of the 1st Derbyshire Yeomanry (the 6th Armoured Division's reconnaissance regiment) and anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns, and to capture Tunis as soon as possible.
