Whitley's. Wellington's. Stirling's and Lancasters. The Whitley's being Pre - war design were slow. and eventually drawn out of Service. The Wellington was a fine aircraft. The Stirling was a massive plane. But somewhat underpower. The Lancaster was by far the best of those that he flew. s and Lancaster's Bombers. Started off With Whitley 's with 10 OUT hunting submarines off Bay of Biscay. Which came to a abrupted end on his third trip. when he had to Bale out. Upon landing arrested by the Home Guard believing he was German and locked him up in a Cowshed. Then posted to 196 Sqn Wellingtons second tour was a rear Gunner. Then moved on to the new Stirling bomber completed his first tour 7 Ops and Rested. After a rest period at Newmarket moved to Waterbeach to convert on to Lancasters.
