Flt Lt K Fillingham was a pilot in No. 101 Squadron RAF during World War II, serving as a ”Special Operator” (SO) on Lancaster bombers equipped with the Airborne Cigar (ABC) radio jamming system. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for his service. After the war, he flew Dakotas in India, Burma, Australia, and the South Pacific, and later with the occupation forces in Japan.
