WW2 RAF W/O Norman Gregory 101 Sqn signed Avro Lancaster Bomber Bookplate. 7 x 5 inch limited Special edition printed card with border, perfect for matting or use as bookplate. Flew in Europe with 101 sqn on Lancasters. Norman served as a bomb aimer with 101 (Special Duties) Squadron based at RAF Ludford Magna, Lincolnshire. On his fifth operation to Dortmund on May 22, 1944, his Lancaster, LM395, SR-Q, was shot down by German fighters. He baled out of the stricken plane but spent the next year in captivity. At the end of the war, he was part of the notorious ”Long March” of Allied POWs from Eastern Europe to the West in the bitterly cold winter of early 1945, eventually managing to reach American lines.
