WW2 Airborne Forces FDC signed by Brigadier Stanley James Ledger Hill (14 March 1911 – 16 March 2006) who saw action at Dunkirk, He led the 1st Parachute Battalion in Tunisia. He was shot three times in the chest while attacking Italian tanks with only a revolver. He survived and won his first DSO. On D-Day He commanded the 3rd Parachute Brigade and was badly wounded by misdirected Allied bombs on D-Day but refused to leave his men. He stood up in his jeep to lead because his wounds made it too painful to sit and His brigade jumped into Germany during Operation Varsity. He raced east to block the Russian army from advancing into Denmark
