E Chan Chandler DFC 617 sqn signed WW2 RAF Dambusters 50th ann Cover Rare only 65 issued. Flown by Lancaster PA474 over the Derwent Dam, numbered on the back with flight details on cachet. Special Derwent Dam Keswick 50th ann Dambusters Raid postmark. Completed a total of 98 operations, 65 of which were with 49 Squadron. His first tour began on the 16th April 1941 and, 38 operations later, was completed on the 28th September 1941. His second tour with 49 Sqn began on 30th May 1942 and, after being knocked down by Guy Gibson's car, ended four operations later on the 10th August 1942. Following the accident, which broke Chan's leg in four places, he spent seven months in hospital and rehabilitation centres before completing his second tour with 49 Sqn. He flew 95 operations as Wireless Operator / Air Gunner, Gunnery Leader and Cameraman with 49 and 617 Squadrons and survived nine days adrift in the North Sea.
