Pair of Seaton Dab Ware Storage Jars - c 1890s - Of barrel shaped form,   both inscribed 'Mrs Matthews, 1895' Seaton Pottery was from Old Aberdeen, Scotland, operating from 1868 to 1964. They produced various household items like butter tubs, barrels, and bowls using local and then imported clay before closing due to competition from mass-produced plastic goods.  Often referred to as 'Dab Ware' Recently increased in popularity, a similar paid sold for over £500 in McTears in April this year.  These pair stand 9” tall and 6.5” in diameter More information on the pottery can be found here .
