late Neolithic Jade Bi-Disk from liangshu Culure (3400-2250BC) - Exceptional Bi-Disk, China, Henan, Late Neolithic, probably Liangzhu period (ca. 3400-2250 BC), dark green jade, extremely thin edge of the disk, with inner edge pulled up and down, the inner surface is concave on the flat edge of the top and bottom five circumferential concentric rings, which come to lie exactly over each other. At these thinner sides the jade becomes translucent. Regarding the age of this item it's exquisite workmanship must be admired.The serrated edge show a wave-like structure and no regularity, here the path of the sun or other stars could be shown. The surfaces are polished and show traces of the expected age patina and encrustations. The inner edge has a no outbreak, the thin edge whows old repairs. The edge of the profile is completely preserved. Provenance: Private old French collection, ex collection G. Marris.
