4 copies of The Highlander Magazine 1881 - Duncan Cameron was a stationer in Edinburgh and bought the Oban TImes in 1881; he started a Magazine called 'The Highlander Magazine' in 1885. . It's stated aim was 'to provide a magazine which will cause the hearts & minds of our race to keep unsullied their virtues & graces, who's fame has reached the World's End.' . We have the first two copies of this publication (Vols 1 & 2) plus the last two (Vols 7 & 8) . They are hard to come by as the magazine ended after no.8 despite the prestige of its editor, Professor Donald MacKinnon (the first Professor of Celtic at the University of Edinburgh),
