A Set of Harefield Studio Stoneware Tumblers - Before they founded Anta Pottery and then Tain Pottery - they founded Harefield pottery in London and trained Keith Brymer Jones (he of TV fame). This set of hand-thrown studio stoneware tumblers features tapered cylindrical bodies and flared rims. The collection exhibits two distinct decorative patterns executed through impressed or incised techniques highlighted with an iron-oxide wash. One pattern consists of a repeating geometric wave or S-motif arranged in rectangular panels, while the other features an organic botanical motif resembling seed pods. The tumblers are finished in a speckled, earthy tan glaze with a textured surface characteristic of high-fire studio ceramics. Height: Approximately 3.75 - 4 inches.
