A Pair of Scottish Antique Silver Plated Foliate Belt Buckles - This lot consists of a pair of decorative rectangular buckles, likely designed for use as belt, sash, or shoe ornaments. Each buckle is made from a silver and silver plate, which visual inspection suggests is brass or bronze based on the yellow-toned metal visible in areas of high wear. The frames feature a dense, symmetrical embossed pattern of foliate scrolls and floral motifs. Each frame is fitted with a single, slightly curved horizontal cross-bar. These bars bear a stamped maker's mark consisting of the letters AB contained within a horizontal oval.
