Ward Brothers Sterling Silver Celtic Revival Brooch Birmingham 1944 - A circular sterling silver brooch by Ward Brothers featuring relief decoration in the Celtic Revival style. The piece consists of a ring with four circular medallions: two with interlaced knotwork and two with cruciform designs. These are separated by four rectangular panels containing zoomorphic interlace motifs of stylized animals. The reverse features a flat surface with a horizontal pin and a traditional C-clasp. Hallmarks on the reverse include the maker mark WBs for Ward Brothers, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and the date letter u for 1944.
