19th Century Hanau Neo-Rococo Silver Miniature Coin Bank - Austrian silver miniature coin bank produced by Storck and Sinsheimer of Hanau, late 19th to early 20th century. The vessel is of bulbous four-sided form, raised on four scrolling foliated feet. The body is heavily decorated in high-relief repousse and chased work featuring C-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and floral motifs. Two opposing sides feature oval medallions with high-relief portrait busts, one depicting a man in 17th-century attire with a cap and the other a woman in historical dress. A hinged, scrolling handle is attached to one side. The top features a hinged lid with a central coin slot and a decorative latch. The interior is hollow and accessible when the lid is unlatched. The lid bears a set of pseudo-hallmarks: a central circular punch containing a horizontal bar with an S above and a T below. This central punch is surrounded by three separate number punches, an 8 at the top, a 5 at the lower left, and a 2 at the lower right, likely indicating a silver fineness of .825. A small five-pointed star is visible to the left of the 5. Height: approximately 4.5 inches.
