Regency Style Mahogany Standing Davenport Clerk's Desk - This standing desk of davenport form is constructed from mahogany with figured flame mahogany veneers on the side panels. The piece features a slanted writing surface inset with a dark green leather skiver, decorated with gold-tooled borders. A three-sided perforated brass gallery is fixed to the top. Storage includes a single full-width frieze drawer below the writing slope, secured with a central keyhole and brass escutcheon. The right-hand side contains a small drawer with a brass bail handle positioned above a single cupboard door. The desk is supported by four tall turned legs connected by stretchers and a lower shelf.
