A 20th Century Seahorse Copper and Brass Masthead Ship's Light - A 20th Century maritime masthead navigation light constructed from copper and brass. The heavy-duty light features a double-tiered cylindrical configuration with a large curved copper backplate reflector. The unit is fitted with two clear glass Fresnel lenses designed to intensify the internal light sources and is capped by a hinged lid. A raised brass plaque on the lid is embossed with the word MASTHEAD. The maker's rectangular brass plate bears the text SEAHORSE, a stylized seahorse symbol flanked by the letters G and B, and the digits 81055 above a MADE IN ENGLAND stamp. The glass lenses are molded with an anchor symbol, 70R, GG, D901, and the letters IMCO. Height: approximately 21 inches Diameter: approximately 8 inches.
