A Large Polished Utah Septarian Nodule Geode - A large polished septarian nodule geode featuring a central crystal-lined vug. The specimen is a sedimentary concretion with a cut and highly polished flat face. It displays a rugged, natural turtle-back exterior on the reverse, characteristic of nodules found in the Cretaceous period deposits of southern Utah. The interior reveals a complex network of yellow-to-cream calcite veins bordered by chocolate-brown aragonite set within a grey mudstone matrix. The central hollow is lined with a dense carpet of translucent yellow drusy calcite crystals. No labels or maker marks are present on the specimen.
