Early 20th Century Wood and Sons Bursley Ware Earthenware Cream Jug - An early 20th-century Art Deco earthenware cream jug produced by Wood and Sons. The vessel is of globular form with a flared rim and an integrated pouring spout. It is constructed from earthenware with a clear glaze over hand-applied enamels. A single loop handle is attached to one side, following the rounded profile of the body. Stylized fruit and floral motifs decorate the body in orange, purple, blue, and ochre enamels within black outlines. A wide orange band highlights the rim, spout, and handle. The underside of the base bears a printed black backstamp. The mark consists of the pattern number 772 above a crown symbol, followed by the words BURSLEY WARE, BURSLEM, and ENGLAND. No additional signatures are visible. Height: Approximately 3.5 inches.
