A Set of 20th Century Caithness Morven Smoky Glassware - A 20th-century decanter set crafted from smoky grey glass. Designed by the founding designer of Caithness Glass was Domhnall Ó Broin (often spelled Domhnall O'Broin). He joined forces with company founder Robin Sinclair in 1961 to establish the Scottish art glass manufacturer in Wick - conisdered enough of a design icon to be in the V & A museum. The set includes a decanter with a matching solid glass stopper and four rocks glasses. The decanter is designed with a wide, weighted bulbous base transitioning into a tall cylindrical neck, while the glasses feature a slightly tapered cylindrical form with thick, heavy bases. Each piece is decorated with a frosted acid-etched commemorative logo depicting a stylized profile of a ship. The text within the logo is clearly legible, with the top line reading 'PORT OF WICK' and the bottom line reading 'CAITHNESS'. No other marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the pieces.
