A 19th Century Oak and Glass Optometrist's Trial Lens Set - A 19th-century optometrist's trial lens set housed in a fitted oak case. The rectangular hardwood case features a polished finish with side-mounted brass latches and a central brass keyhole. The interior contains a complex tray system with brass and wooden partitions, while the lid is lined with a quilted tan fabric. The set includes an extensive assortment of circular glass lenses set in metal rims with stamped numerical tabs. Brass strips inside the case are printed with the words CONCAVE, CYLINDRICALS, CONVEX, and SPHERICALS. One loose lens bears the mark KRYPTOK, though the text on a small rectangular label in the lower compartment is not legible.
