A Set of 19th Century Copeland Porcelain Dessert Wares - A 19th-century English porcelain dessert service manufactured by Copeland. The service is comprised of an oval footed center bowl and three matching circular plates. The bowl features a reticulated rim and stands on four ornate gilded scroll feet. The plates have scalloped edges with matching pierced borders. Each piece is decorated with a rich cobalt blue ground and heavy gilded foliate scrollwork. Three white reserves contain hand-painted polychrome floral sprays including roses and pansies, while the centers feature a radial gilt medallion. The base of each piece bears a green printed mark reading COPELAND and ENGLAND below a crown and wreath. The initials within the wreath are not legible as a name. A hand-painted pattern number 8712 is visible in red on the underside.
