A Pair of Nautical Oil Lanterns - A pair of nautical lanterns comprising one rectangular and one cylindrical form. The rectangular lantern is constructed with a hinged door and glass panes, topped with a vented chimney cap and a swing handle. Its interior houses a removable brass oil reservoir and a clear glass chimney. The cylindrical lantern features a protective brass cage with horizontal and vertical bars, a vented top, and a circular base. A brass plaque riveted to the shoulder of the rectangular lantern is embossed with the text CARGO LIGHT NO. 3954 GREAT BRITAIN 1939. The cylindrical lantern burner assembly features the embossed word WEDGE in a rectangular cartouche. Both items show surface tarnish and a naturally aged patina consistent with their vintage. No other manufacturer marks are visible.
