1997 The Tain Pottery Glazed Ceramic Commemorative Jug - A late 20th-century hand-painted Scottish commemorative jug produced by The Tain Pottery. The vessel is constructed from glazed earthenware with a globular body, a flared neck, and a pinched pouring spout. It features a single strap handle with horizontal molded ribbing. The piece is finished in a glossy clear glaze over blue underglaze decoration. The exterior is hand-painted with a nautical scene of tall ships under full sail against a backdrop of clouds and gulls. The base bears a circular blue printed stamp for THE TAIN POTTERY SCOTLAND surrounding a seated figure. It is hand-signed Alan Pett. and dated 1997 with ABERDEEN TALL SHIPS inscribed in a blue underglaze arc.
