A Pair of 20th Century Chinese Black Lacquer Wall Panels - A pair of Chinese wall panels crafted from wood with black lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay. The rectangular panels are finished with a high-gloss black ground and include traditional brass bat-shaped hangers at the upper edge. Each features applied decoration in carved hardstone and iridescent shell. The scenes illustrate female figures in garden settings with gilt-painted landscapes of mountains and bamboo. The borders are decorated with a repeating gilt floral diaper pattern. A modern inventory sticker is present on one panel, but no maker names or signatures are visible.
