Bidspirit auction | A Studio Pottery Stoneware Cider

A Studio Pottery Stoneware Cider Jug - A studio pottery stoneware cider jug featuring a functional wooden spigot and cork stopper. The jug is hand-thrown in an ovoid form with a narrow neck and a wide strap handle. The handle is finished with distinctive flared terminals where it joins the shoulder of the vessel. A turned wooden spigot is fitted into the base, and the top is sealed with a tapered cork stopper. The body is decorated with a cream-colored glaze featuring heavy iron spotting, characteristic of reduction firing. A single glaze drip runs vertically down the front of the vessel. The lower portion transitions into a dark, textured brown finish with a gritty surface. The underside of the base is incised with a stylized spiral or monogram which is not legible as a name. No other maker marks or labels are visible.
