A Pair of 1920s British Chalkware Parrot Figurines - A pair of early 20th-century bird figurines featuring integral basket holders, crafted from chalkware. Each figurine is molded as a parrot perched atop a rocky base, with a deep basket-weave cup positioned at the front. The figures are constructed from a dense plaster-based material and finished with cold-painted polychrome pigments. The decoration consists of deep red and dark brown tones accented with metallic bronze-gold highlights on the heads, wings, and basket rims. An incised mark on the lower edge of one basket reads RD NO 737361 alongside a separate R character. The design number corresponds to a British registration from late 1928.
