A Mid-20th Century Wood and Glass Engineer's Compound Set - A mid-20th century engineer's compound set housed in a custom wooden storage chest. The set consists of ten clear glass jars with black screw-top lids. The handcrafted wooden box features a hinged lid, a metal flip-latch closure, and an interior lined with green felt. It contains various industrial substances used in toolmaking and machining. Each jar lid bears a hand-written paper label. Legible labels include 'TALLOW', 'VASELINE', 'JEWELLERS ROUGE', 'FRENCH CHALK', 'GRINDING COMPOUND MEDIUM', 'ANTI SCUFF', 'ROZALEX', and 'ENGINEERS BLUE'. Two labels are significantly faded and illegible. An accompanying information sheet lists the full contents, including 'Slex' and 'Pocol Paste'. The 'ROZALEX' label refers to a brand of barrier cream. No other maker marks or stamps are present on the box or jars. Length: 22.5 cm Width: 10.7 cm Height: 8 cm.
