A Collection of W. B. Nicolson and Natural History Specimens - A collection of scientific instruments, entomological specimens, and anatomical models crafted from wood, metal, and resin. The assortment features a resistance box housed in a finger-jointed mahogany case with a hinged lid and brass latches. Three black-framed glazed cases contain pinned insect specimens showing various life cycles, alongside a simulated bone articulated human spine section and two square metal measuring cups. One small red foil-wrapped item is included. A white label on the mahogany lid is printed with W. B. NICOLSON, SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENT MAKER, GLASGOW, which is repeated on the interior panel. The specimen displays include printed identification labels for PIERIS BRASSICAE and Schistocerca gregaria. The metal measuring cups are marked LITRE in white block characters, while the anatomical spine bears no visible maker marks.
