19th Century Harrison Brothers and Howson Silver Plate Centerpiece Bowl - A late 19th-century silver plate footed centerpiece bowl featuring Celtic Revival motifs. The bowl is constructed from Alpha Plate electroplated nickel silver. It has a rounded form with two flat, horizontal, out-turned handles and rests on four ribbed scroll-form feet. The exterior is decorated with an incised band of Celtic knotwork punctuated by applied circular bosses with relief-molded interlaced patterns. The interior shows circular cleaning swirls and the underside bears several stamped marks including a crown symbol, the word ALPHA, and four shield-shaped cartouches containing the characters H, B, &, and H, above the pattern number 5206.
