The rod is constructed from Palakona split-cane bamboo in three sections, accompanied by an additional matching tip section. It is fitted with a textured metal reel seat featuring a knurled locking ring and an integrated handle grip. The sections are joined by metal ferrules and finished with dark silk intermediate and guide wraps. The metal reel seat is stamped in three rows with the serial number '73480', the maker 'HARDY BROS LTD.', and the origin 'ALNWICK, ENGLAND.'. The protective hollowed bamboo tube is hand-inscribed in black ink 'Hardy Bros Ltd. Alnwick. England.' with a decorative flourish. The base of the tube is marked 'A 220' and the interior of the leather cap bears the handwritten number '220'. A tan multi-compartment cloth storage bag is also included.
