A Pair of 19th Century Leather and Brass Long John Field Glasses - A pair of antique telescoping field glasses, commonly referred to as long john binoculars, constructed from leather-wrapped brass. The instrument features a dual-telescoping design with black enameled brass tubes and a central knurled focusing wheel. The primary barrels are encased in a textured black leather wrap. Heavy brassing is visible across all metal surfaces where the black finish has worn through to the underlying metal. The leather exhibits surface scuffs consistent with regular use.
