Bidspirit auction | A 19th Century Iridescent Glaze

A 19th Century Iridescent Glaze Ceramic Wash Set - A 19th-century two-piece ceramic wash set finished with an iridescent lustre glaze. The set is constructed from glazed earthenware and consists of a large washbowl and a matching pitcher. The pitcher is shaped with a wide flared spout, a pedestal foot, and an ornate scrolled handle, while the bowl features a broad, flared rim. Both items are decorated with a mother-of-pearl lustre glaze and gold accents, including a gilded handle and thin lines along the pitcher shoulder and bowl rim. The base of the bowl contains faint embossed characters in a semi-circle and a circular mark to the center, but these are not legible. No other maker marks, signatures, or stamps are present.
