19th Century Levi & Salaman Sterling Silver Miniature Cream Jug - A Victorian sterling silver miniature cream jug produced by Levi & Salaman. The vessel is constructed with an oval footed body and an oval pedestal base. It features a C-scroll handle with a distinct thumb rest and an interior finished with a gold wash. The exterior is decorated with repoussé and chased floral swags and garlands tied with ribbons above a vertically gadrooned lower section, with matching gadrooning to the foot. The upper rim bears a series of impressed hallmarks including the maker's mark L & S for Levi & Salaman, a walking lion passant for sterling silver, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and a lowercase z date letter corresponding to 1899.
