19th Century Sherwoods Ltd Brass and Copper Gimbaled Maritime Lamp - A 19th-century maritime oil lamp featuring a brass and copper gimbaled font. The font is constructed with a brass upper section and a copper lower reservoir, supported by a nested double-ring brass gimbal system. The assembly is held by a heavy cast brass wall-mounting bracket featuring a decorative stylized dolphin motif. The knurled winder knob is embossed with the characters SHERWOODS LTD BHAM. The burner dome is stamped with an oval mark reading BRITISH STARHINGE BURNER. A clear glass chimney is fitted to the burner crown.
