A Modern Burmese Gilded Wood Seated Buddha Statue - A modern Burmese statue of a seated Buddha crafted from gilded and inlaid wood. The figure is depicted in the Mandalay style, seated in the lotus position with the right hand in the bhumisparsha mudra. The statue features elaborate thayo relief work across the robes and base, creating a textured surface finished with gold leaf. Decorative elements include inset green and clear glass mirror fragments throughout the royal attire. The back of the red-lacquered base bears an incised date reading 20 05 2007. A foil-wrapped confection is currently resting in the lap of the figure. Height 16” tall
