A 19th Century French Copper and Iron Bed Warmer - An antique French bed warmer featuring a hand-hammered copper vessel and a hand-wrought iron handle. The copper pan is constructed from a shallow circular base joined to a domed lid. The long, flat iron handle is attached to the rear of the pan with a spade-shaped terminal secured by two large rivets and finishes with a scrolled hanging loop at the distal end. The domed lid is pierced with a central circular ventilation hole surrounded by five smaller circular apertures. No maker marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on the patinated surfaces of the metal. A modern decorative red and silver foil ornament is tied to the neck of the handle.
