20th Century English Oak and Copper Smoker's Cabinet - An early 20th-century English smoker's cabinet constructed from solid oak with decorative copper panels. The rectangular cabinet features a molded top lid that opens to reveal a shallow upper tray. A pair of hinged doors are secured by a central brass latch with a decorative drop handle and open to a fitted interior. The interior contains two side-drawers on the left with brass shell-form handles and a central shallow drawer labeled PLAYING CARDS below an open compartment. The door fronts each hold a recessed copper repoussé panel decorated with stylized Art Nouveau tulip motifs and whiplash curves. A brass presentation plaque is screwed to the top, reading Presented to J. H. SINKINSON Esq. B.A. CLERK TO THE HASLINGDEN GUARDIANS... 1ST AUGUST 1907. Height: Approximately 11 inches
